Blanefield Country House Accommodation
Blanefield is a fine residential estate situated in lovely countryside with magnificent gardens, a burn and waterfall, surrounded by its own woodland and fields. The house incorporates 6 bedroom suites, library, great hall and drawing room. For cosy nights in there are also open log fires. The front gates lead to a gravel driveway lined with mature trees and lamps which sweeps through parkland to a gravel turning circle.
There are many opportunities for leisure activities including the internationally renowned Turnberry golf course with its new leisure club, spa and clubhouse, field sports and yachting marinas. The coastline is spectacular, with the island of Ailsa Craig being a notable landmark. There are many opportunities for field sports including pheasant shoots, grouse moors and salmon fishing. There are yachting marinas at Troon, Largs and Inverkip with spectacular sailing in the Firth of Clyde.
Blanefield can be let with or without services. The services are undertaken by Inverlochy Castle staff and chefs.
Directions
From Ayr the A77 provides a dual carriageway link to Glasgow with the M77 giving direct access to the city centre and the airport. Glasgow Airport provides a number of international flights as well as domestic and European flights.
Take the A77 south from Ayr through Maybole and on towards Turnberry. The white entrance gates to the drive are on the left, about 6km (4 miles) south of Maybole and 3km (1.5 miles) after passing the ruins of Crossraguel Abbey on the left. At the top of the outer drive, turn left onto a small public road. The main gates are about 150 yards on the right.
